Smooth, rich, and full of authentic Mediterranean flavour, this Creamy Hummus features roasted garlic and extra virgin olive oil for a silky, aromatic finish. Perfect as a dip, spread, or side dish — ideal for cafés, restaurants, and catering menus.
Ingredients
For the Hummus:

400g canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed

2 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)

2 cloves garlic, roasted

3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)

Juice of 1 lemon
-
½ tsp ground cumin
-
3–4 tbsp cold water (adjust for texture)

Salt to taste
For Garnish:

A drizzle of olive oil

Pinch of paprika or sumac

Fresh parsley, chopped

Whole chickpeas (optional)
Instructions

Roast the Garlic:
Wrap unpeeled garlic cloves in foil and roast in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, until soft and fragrant. Let cool, then squeeze out the cloves. -
Blend the Hummus:
In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, roasted garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth, adding cold water gradually to reach your desired creaminess. -
Adjust and Taste:
Check seasoning and adjust with more lemon juice or salt if needed. Blend again for extra smoothness. -
Serve and Garnish:
Spoon the hummus into a bowl, create a small well in the centre, and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle paprika or sumac and top with parsley or chickpeas.
Serving Suggestion
Serve with warm pita bread, vegetable sticks, or as part of a mezze platter. It also pairs beautifully with grilled meats, falafel, or fresh salads.
