Crispy, flaky, and delightfully sweet — these Baklava Bites capture the essence of traditional Greek baklava in a bite-sized form. Layers of golden filo pastry, crushed nuts, and fragrant honey syrup come together for an indulgent dessert or café treat.
Ingredients
For the Baklava:

200g filo pastry sheets

150g mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, and almonds), finely chopped

1 tsp ground cinnamon

120g melted butter (unsalted)
For the Syrup:

120ml water
-
150g sugar
-
100g honey
-
½ tsp lemon juice
-
½ tsp ground cinnamon or a small cinnamon stick
For Garnish:

Crushed pistachios
-
Extra honey for drizzling
Instructions

Prepare the Nut Filling:
In a bowl, mix the chopped nuts with ground cinnamon. Set aside. -
Assemble the Baklava:
Brush a mini muffin tin or baking tray with melted butter.
Cut the filo pastry into small squares to fit your tin.
Layer 3 sheets of filo in each mould, brushing each with butter.
Add a teaspoon of the nut mixture, then top with another 2–3 sheets of buttered filo. -
Bake:
Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Bake for 25–30 minutes until the pastry is crisp and golden. -
Make the Syrup:
While baking, combine water, sugar, honey, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then simmer for 8–10 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove cinnamon stick and cool slightly. -
Finish:
Pour the warm syrup evenly over the baked baklava bites immediately after removing from the oven.
Allow to soak for at least 1 hour before serving. -
Garnish:
Sprinkle with crushed pistachios and drizzle a little extra honey on top.
Serving Suggestion
Serve these Baklava Bites warm or at room temperature with Greek coffee or mint tea. Perfect for catering events, dessert platters, or café counters — offering a true taste of Mediterranean sweetness in every bite.
